Casa Cares

Sweet Caroline! Italy is way too cool. To put it into perspective, the first week of Italy was definitely wild. We were touring, seeing lots of historic sites, and basically enjoying our role's as American tourist cheeseballs. However this last week has been a whole different surprise. The place that we are staying at is called Casa Cares. The house is set up in the foothills, overlooking a huge valley just outside of Florence in Tuscany. Before we got here, we were sure that Italy couldn't get any better. We weren't even getting started. I feel like I have seen alot of beautiful places, but this is definitely one of the best.

The house is basically a huge farm house on a olive vineyard that is hundred of years old. Many years ago they converted this place into a guesthouse, because it was no longer being used.

Here is a picture of the Old olive press in the basement.

The house is really old and rustic, and we have been able to experience true italian culture here unlike anywhere else. They have these awesome ladies that make all our food that is oh so good. Most of the food is grown in their garden right outside the house, and they even have some cherries trees which are in season right now. I usually go climb the trees and eat some cherries on our breaks.

If that is not enough, there is this awesome forrest really close by with all these old ruins in it. It literally feels like you are in Narnia or something. It is a sweet place to have a walk and pray in the mornings.

This has definitely been the coolest place that we have stayed thus far. I cannot believe how beautiful this country is. God's beauty is blinding here!

  2. This trip seems to get better with each passing week. I'm with Rachel... that forest... unlike anything we have here, with so much history under the carpet of leaves. The villa, the view... oh my goodness, Chris!
